At least 9 shot, including minors, as Memorial Day gunfire erupts in Hollywood Beach, Florida

Four children – including a 1-year-old – were among nine people shot and wounded when gunfire erupted near a popular Florida beach packed with Memorial Day revelers, authorities said. 

Gunfire erupted after two groups of men got into an altercation on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, according to police and a witness. 

"Some of the gunshot victims were caught in the crossfire."

At least nine people were injured in the shooting.

One suspect was reportedly arrested for the mass shooting.

Three of the shooting victims were reportedly minors.

Chief Chris O’Brien slammed “a group of criminals” for interrupting a beach day soaked in by thousands of “law-abiding” visitors. 

He vowed during the press conference to leave “no stone unturned” during the investigation.
